Ensure cut ends are adequately protected using Ronseal Decking End Grain Preserver. New wood: New decking should be allowed to weather naturally (usually 6 months). This will make sure any pre-treatment has eroded allowing the stain to penetrate and adhere to the deck. Clean the deck with Ronseal Decking Cleaner and Reviver using a scrubbing brush to open the pores of the wood and remove any contamination from the manufacture of the timber. Rinse thoroughly with clean water ideally using a pressure washer. Allow to dry fully before over coating. Test effectiveness of the cleaning by splashing the deck with water. Ronseal Shed and Fence Preserver has been specially formulated to give colour and protection to sheds and fences. The deep penetrating 2-in-1 formula eradicates woodworm whilst preserving the wood to prevent rot and decay. The unique formula contains added water repellents, waterproofing the timber from the damage caused by water ingress. Before You Start: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from surface coatings such as paint, varnish or stain etc. Where timbers are suffering from decay, before applying Ronseal Shed and Fence Preserver, remove all decayed wood and replace with sound, treated timber. Cut out and burn all decayed wood at least 45cm beyond the area of damage. Application: Shake well before use. This is important to ensure uniform colour. Ronseal Shed & Fence Preserver can be applied by brush or dipping. Where possible, end grains should be treated by dipping to ensure complete penetration. Apply a minimum of 2 even coats of Ronseal Shed and Fence Preserver, covering all faces, sides and joints, paying particular attention to the end grain. Refer to all coverage guidelines. Cuprinol Woodworm Killer (WB) kills all types of wood-boring beetle larvae. Its deep penetration ensures effective protection for years to come. This low odour, water based formula has been specially developed to make it more pleasant and convenient to use. Application: Bare Wood: Flood surfaces with 2 or 3 brush coats. Pay particular attention to endgrain, corners, joints, crevices, etc. In severe cases, also inject into flight holes 7-10cm (3-4ins) apart and repeat treatment. Re-treat surfaces cut after treatment. Polished Wood: Inject into flight holes 5-7cm (2-3ins) apart. Flood into joints. Wipe off surplus. In severe cases repeat treatment. Fluid does not penetrate polished surfaces. Wax polished surfaces will normally require re-waxing after treatment. Note: The application of this product may cause darkening of some timbers. If colour is critical, try a test area first and allow to dry fully to ensure final appearance is acceptable. After drying, glues, fillers and knotting can be used normally. Bitumen, rubber and some plastic based materials may soften or swell on contact with fluid or solvent vapour.Do not spill on asphalt, bitumen, bitumen felt, tar or mastics.
