  • Last stock! Forgefix Flat Repair Washers Zp M8 X 40Mm Bag 10

Forgefix Forgefix Flat Repair Washers Zp M8 X 40Mm Bag 10

    5 in stock

These Forgefix Flat Repair Washers have a large 40mm outside diameter. They are bright Zinc Plated for increased corrosion resistance. Washers provide a smooth surface for the nut or bolt to bear on, making it less likely to loosen as a result of an uneven fastening surface. The main purpose of a washer is to distribute the load under a bolt head or the nut face. APPLICATION:On all manner of bolting applications. Can be used with all types of bolts and nuts. Zinc coatings prevent oxidation of the protected metal to create a longer lasting finish. It does this by forming a barrier and by acting as a sacrificial anode if this barrier is damaged. Zinc oxide is a fine white dust that (in contrast to iron oxide) does not trigger a breakdown of the substrate’s surface integrity as it is formed. The zinc oxide, if left intact, can act as a barrier to further oxidation, in a way similar to the protection afforded to aluminum and stainless steels by their oxide layers.Flat Repair Washers ZP M8 x 40mm Bag 10

    Forgefix Forgefix Carriage Bolt & Nut Zp M6 X 150Mm Bag 10

    20 in stock

These Forgefix Carriage Bolts are Zinc Plated, and ideal for timber to timber joining. They come complete with a hex nut and are fully threaded to 100mm. Also known as 'Cup Square Hex Bolts', the square underneath the Cup stops rotation of the bolt when tightening. Conform to DIN 603 and DIN 934 standards. Available in a comprehensive range of sizes to suit most applications. APPLICATIONUsed mainly for fastening timber to timber and is extensively used for timber joist construction in house building and numerous decking applications. A Carriage Bolt, also known as a Coach Bolt or as a ‘Fully Threaded Cup Square Hex Bolt’, has a domed or countersunk head, and the shank is topped by a short square section under the head. The square section grips into the part being fixed (typically wood), preventing the bolt from turning when the nut is tightened. A rib neck Carriage Bolt has several longitudinal ribs instead of the square section, to grip into a metal part being fixed. Zinc coatings prevent oxidation of the protected metal to create a longer lasting finish. It does this by forming a barrier and by acting as a sacrificial anode if this barrier is damaged. • Forgefix Hexagon Nut & Nylon Insert Zp M16 Bag 10

Forgefix Forgefix Hexagon Nut & Nylon Insert Zp M16 Bag 10

    20 in stock

The Forgefix Nyloc hexagon nut is a fastener that incorporates a nylon component to effectively lock the nut into position on the bolt. The nylon component has a smaller inside diameter than the actual nut. This locks the nut in place by squeezing the nylon firmly around the bolt when tightened. Unlike a standard locking washer, the Nyloc nut prevents the nut from loosening under vibration as the nylon is tightly wedged into the bolt threads and provides resistance to turning when tightened. The nuts are zinc-plated for increased resistance to corrosion. Their hexagonal shape is designed to be driven by a wrench (spanner) and provides excellent torque when done so. APPLICATION:Where a permanent fastening is required and loosening must be prevented by movement or vibration. Can be used on most bolt products including HT Bolts, Carriage Bolts, Threaded Rod etc. Zinc coatings prevent oxidation of the protected metal to create a longer lasting finish. It does this by forming a barrier and by acting as a sacrificial anode if this barrier is damaged. Zinc oxide is a fine white dust that (in contrast to iron oxide) does not trigger a breakdown of the substrate’s surface integrity as it is formed. The zinc oxide, if left intact, can act as a barrier to further oxidation, in a way similar to the protection afforded to aluminium and stainless steels by their oxide layers.Carriage Bolt & Nut ZP M12 x 130 Bag 5
