These Forgefix Socket Screws have a raised head, and are designed for attaching electrical wall sockets and switches. The screws have a slotted head and are nickel plated for increased durability. APPLICATIONUsed specifically for attaching electrical wall socket and switches to back plates. The Nickel plating process coats mild steel or stainless steel to considerably prolong the part’s life. Nickel plating is probably the most corrosion resistant finish available and is often used on socket screws for electric switch sockets avoiding corrosion and cross contamination. It leaves a bright aesthetic finish and is extremely hardwearing. With slotted screwdrivers it is important to ensure that the tip matches the width of the screw slot, otherwise you run the risk of damaging the screw head. Slotted screwdrivers are available with either Flared or Parallel tips. For the majority of uses the Flared tip is ideal but if the screw needs to be driven below the material surface a Parallel tip screwdriver should be used. Raised heads have both countersunk and raised structure which is designed for aesthetic purposes on all types of ironmongery and lighting applications.Socket Screw Slotted Raised Head Nickle Plated 3.5 x 50mm Bag 100
These Forgefix Multi-Purpose Pozi Screws with countersunk heads have a zinc yellow passivated finish for increased durability. The screws are immensely popular and versatile, and used in all trades including joinery, electrical and plumbing. Also widely used in DIY applications. APPLICATIONSuitable for use with many materials including PVCu, Timber, Chipboard, MDF, and other similar types. The Zinc Yellow Passivation process of electroplating is similar to the 'Galvanised' and 'Zinc Plated' processes but with the addition of a yellow dye. It offers an aesthetically pleasing finish, whilst having excellent resistance to corrosion. The Pozidriv screw is similar in appearance to the classic Phillips cross-head, but in fact is very different. The Pozidriv has four additional points of contact, and does not have the rounded corners that the Phillips screw drive has. The biggest advantage it offers is that, when used with the correct tooling in good condition, it does not cam out, allowing great torque to be applied. The Pozidriv screw can easily be distinguished by a line embossed in the screw head at 45° to the slots for the driver. The countersunk head is designed to sink flush with substrates to leave a smooth surface finish. They have single threads, designed to offer higher pull out values and quicker insertion.Multi-Purpose Pozi Screw Countersunk ST ZYP 3.0 x 20mm Box 200

These Forgefix heavy-duty Form A Flat Washers are thicker than the more popular Form B type washers. They are bright Zinc Plated for increased corrosion resistance and conform to DIN 125 standards. Washers provide a smooth surface for the nut or bolt to bear on, making it less likely to loosen as a result of an uneven fastening surface. The main purpose of a washer is to distribute the load under a bolt head or the nut face. APPLICATION:On all manner of bolting applications. Can be used with all types of bolts and nuts. Zinc coatings prevent oxidation of the protected metal to create a longer lasting finish. It does this by forming a barrier and by acting as a sacrificial anode if this barrier is damaged. Zinc oxide is a fine white dust that (in contrast to iron oxide) does not trigger a breakdown of the substrate’s surface integrity as it is formed. The zinc oxide, if left intact, can act as a barrier to further oxidation, in a way similar to the protection afforded to aluminum and stainless steels by their oxide layers.Flat Washer Heavy-Duty ZP M5 Box 10

The Zinc Yellow Passivation process of electroplating is similar to the 'Galvanised' and 'Zinc Plated' processes but with the addition of a yellow dye. It offers an aesthetically pleasing finish, whilst having excellent resistance to corrosion. By design, Torx compatible head screws resist cam-out much better than Phillips or Slotted screws. Where Phillips heads were designed to cause the driver to cam out, to prevent over-tightening, Torx compatible heads were designed to prevent it and to achieve a desired torque consistently. Torx compatible head sizes are described using the capital letter 'T', followed by a number. A smaller number corresponds to a smaller point-to-point dimension of the screw head. Only the proper driver can drive a specific head size without risk of ruining the driver or screw.
