Forgefix Countersunk Torx® Compatible Head Lightening Bolts provide a virtually stress free fixing for close to edge applications. They are self-threading and allow quick and easy installation of most masonry fixing applications. They can simply be screwed into a pre-drilled hole, without the need for a sleeve or plug. The bolts are through-fixing, eliminating the need for marking and re-positioning. They have a high load capacity due to the thread interlocking into the base material. The Torx® compatible head provides increased control, and is countersunk to sit flush to the surface of the material. The bolts have an 'Elementech' coating for superior anti-corrosion, which has been salt spray tested to 1,000 hours. Applications: Widely used for fixing battens, balustrades, handrails, racking and holding down machinery, plus many more installation applications. Suitable for most masonry substrates including concrete and brickwork but also for hollow block or bricks due to the nature of the thread type anchoring along the total length of the fixing.Specifications:Size: M6 x 150mm.Bag of 10.

These Forgefix Multi-Purpose Pozi Screws with countersunk heads have a zinc yellow passivated finish for increased durability. The screws are immensely popular and versatile, and used in all trades including joinery, electrical and plumbing. Also widely used in DIY applications. APPLICATIONSuitable for use with many materials including PVCu, Timber, Chipboard, MDF, and other similar types. The Zinc Yellow Passivation process of electroplating is similar to the 'Galvanised' and 'Zinc Plated' processes but with the addition of a yellow dye. It offers an aesthetically pleasing finish, whilst having excellent resistance to corrosion. The Pozidriv screw is similar in appearance to the classic Phillips cross-head, but in fact is very different. The Pozidriv has four additional points of contact, and does not have the rounded corners that the Phillips screw drive has. The biggest advantage it offers is that, when used with the correct tooling in good condition, it does not cam out, allowing great torque to be applied. The Pozidriv screw can easily be distinguished by a line embossed in the screw head at 45° to the slots for the driver. The countersunk head is designed to sink flush with substrates to leave a smooth surface finish. They have single threads, designed to offer higher pull out values and quicker insertion.Multi-Purpose Pozi Screw Countersunk ST ZYP 3.0 x 20mm Box 200

    Forgefix Forgefix Carriage Bolt & Nut Zp M8 X 160Mm Bag 10

    3 in stock

These Forgefix Carriage Bolts are Zinc Plated, and ideal for timber to timber joining. They come complete with a hex nut and are fully threaded to 100mm. Also known as 'Cup Square Hex Bolts', the square underneath the Cup stops rotation of the bolt when tightening. Conform to DIN 603 and DIN 934 standards. Available in a comprehensive range of sizes to suit most applications. APPLICATIONUsed mainly for fastening timber to timber and is extensively used for timber joist construction in house building and numerous decking applications. A Carriage Bolt, also known as a Coach Bolt or as a ‘Fully Threaded Cup Square Hex Bolt’, has a domed or countersunk head, and the shank is topped by a short square section under the head. The square section grips into the part being fixed (typically wood), preventing the bolt from turning when the nut is tightened. A rib neck Carriage Bolt has several longitudinal ribs instead of the square section, to grip into a metal part being fixed. Zinc coatings prevent oxidation of the protected metal to create a longer lasting finish. It does this by forming a barrier and by acting as a sacrificial anode if this barrier is damaged. Zinc oxide is a fine white dust that (in contrast to iron oxide) does not trigger a breakdown of the substrate’s surface integrity as it is formed. The zinc oxide, if left intact, can act as a barrier to further oxidation, in a way similar to the protection afforded to aluminium and stainless steels by their oxide layers.Carriage Bolt & Nut ZP M8 x 160 Bag 10

These Forgefix heavy-duty Form A Flat Washers are thicker than the more popular Form B type washers. They are bright Zinc Plated for increased corrosion resistance and conform to DIN 125 standards. Washers provide a smooth surface for the nut or bolt to bear on, making it less likely to loosen as a result of an uneven fastening surface. The main purpose of a washer is to distribute the load under a bolt head or the nut face. APPLICATION:On all manner of bolting applications. Can be used with all types of bolts and nuts. APPLICATION: Extremely popular fixing for window and door frames. Also now used as a versatile fixing for many applications in DIY, Joinery, Plumbing and Electrical trades. The Zinc Yellow Passivation process of electroplating is similar to the 'Galvanised' and 'Zinc Plated' processes but with the addition of a yellow dye. It offers an aesthetically pleasing finish, whilst having excellent resistance to corrosion. By design, Torx compatible head screws resist cam-out much better than Phillips or Slotted screws. Where Phillips heads were designed to cause the driver to cam out, to prevent over-tightening, Torx compatible heads were designed to prevent it and to achieve a desired torque consistently. Torx compatible head sizes are described using the capital letter 'T', followed by a number. A smaller number corresponds to a smaller point-to-point dimension of the screw head. Only the proper driver can drive a specific head size without risk of ruining the driver or screw. Forgefix Forgefix Hexagon Nut & Nylon Insert Zp M5 Bag 100

The Forgefix Nyloc hexagon nut is a fastener that incorporates a nylon component to effectively lock the nut into position on the bolt. The nylon component has a smaller inside diameter than the actual nut. This locks the nut in place by squeezing the nylon firmly around the bolt when tightened. Unlike a standard locking washer, the Nyloc nut prevents the nut from loosening under vibration as the nylon is tightly wedged into the bolt threads and provides resistance to turning when tightened. The nuts are zinc-plated for increased resistance to corrosion. Their hexagonal shape is designed to be driven by a wrench (spanner) and provides excellent torque when done so. APPLICATION:Where a permanent fastening is required and loosening must be prevented by movement or vibration. Can be used on most bolt products including HT Bolts, Carriage Bolts, Threaded Rod etc. Zinc coatings prevent oxidation of the protected metal to create a longer lasting finish. Forgefix Forgefix Baypole Self-Drill Screw Phillips Wafer Head Zp 4.8 X 80Mm Box 100

    20 in stock

These ForgeFix Phillips Baypole Screws with wafer head are specifically designed for joining PVCu sections, particularly in bay windows. The nails have a self-drill tip and are zinc plated for increased corrosion resistance and durability. The wafer head distributes the load under the screw head, offering a firm positive fixing in a similar way to that of a washer. APPLICATION:The large wafer head distributes the load on numerous types of PVCu sections requiring joining. The zinc oxide, if left intact, can act as a barrier to further oxidation, in a way similar to the protection afforded to aluminium and stainless steels by their oxide layers. The Phillips screw has four simple tapered slots. It is designed so that a Phillips tip screwdriver can turn a Phillips screw with increasing torque. When the torque gets too strong for the tip, the screwdriver tip winds itself out of the screw thus preventing over-tightening and or damage to the screw head. A self-drilling screw is similar to a sheet metal screw, but it has a drill-shaped point to cut through the substrate to eliminate the need for drilling a pilot hole. Designed for use in soft steel or other metals.Head: Wafer HeadFinish: Zinc PlatedSize: 4.8 x 80mmPack: Box 100
